The work here is mostly carved stone set with cut and perforated metal, made for public and shared sites rather than for a gallery wall. A recurring form is the ground-plate: a koru spiral cut into a circular slab, with a stone resting at its centre so the piece can be read both from above and at standing height.
Each plate is drawn for the spot it sits in. The line of the koru, the choice of stone, and the way the metal catches light are all decided against the real place, its paths, and the people who use it. Because these are outdoor works, how they weather over decades matters as much as how they look on the first day.
Every piece here began as a conversation about a place. Tell me about yours.
